WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar Item upgrader kit, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item upgrading owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific upgrades to the level of an item upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and item upgrader kit simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially true for item Upgrader Kit items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
