It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has 100% in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuum cleaners uk in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to set up an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
