Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of equippable weapons and armor. This improves the stats and may also include buffs or rerolls to an attach.

Cost

The player has to spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item is based on the item's current level and the type of upgrade. Upgrades to weapons are usually cheaper than upgrades to armor because weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required to upgrade an item increases when the item level upgrade is upgraded to a higher level.

Upgraded items will also have upgraded stats that will improve its performance in different ways. This could mean increasing its attack power critical strike chance, or damage per second. In addition an upgraded item might be able to give additional buffs for its equipped unit. These upgrades can be used to increase the overall strength of a unit or a single unit, and may significantly impact the gameplay.

Any NPC that upgrades items can be found in the game. These NPCs are located in major questing areas, or capital cities. You can also find upgraders of items by visiting dungeons that have high-level bosses, and speaking to NPCs in garrisons of your faction.

The World of Warcraft item upgrading upgrade system allows players to upgrade the level of weapons, armor and trinkets. This process is largely identical to the process of reforging gear in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the appropriate currency players need to visit an NPC for upgrading items to complete the process.

Item upgrades can be costly, particularly when it is related to armor and weapons. Depending on which upgrade track you select, each level increase will cost Crests or Valorstones. The total cost could be a major burden for players who do not have the funds or are unable to grind them.

Requirements
