Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to gain a gauge for each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through a number of means, including using upgrade components and increasing an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged to increase their stats.

Upgradeable items can be found throughout the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. Upgrade components are the most common method of upgrading equipment. These are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots for upgrading and some require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while other components offer general bonuses.

There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and offer numerous benefits, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, as well as any necessary components or materials. If you don't possess enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The upper-right corner displays the number of upgrade components required for an item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but can be reduced through various ways, such as purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix, such as an insignia or a rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded using an upgrade suffix. The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to convey information via visuals. They animate in order to grab the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in conveying the message of a language barrier. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph comes with a range of values it can increase a stat's value, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the highest value that the glyph can improve a stat by but not the amount it actually improves it by. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier and the quality of the item that you are admiring.

Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

If you are looking to remove a glyph from a piece of, you will need to save it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed within which it is placed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore it should not be considered as a loss.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to give it a bonus. Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can also be used to improve the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for upgrade options, however they can be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

They're planning to include an ingredient that allows players to change their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an item level upgrade upgrade is to increase the upgrade amount. This increases the value of upgrading a stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of the stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type.
