They also feature carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in removing dog hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works when you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. 2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the competitors. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit costly but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable however it's more expensive and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
