The i3+ is a great option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin once it gets full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and can navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features which means it can get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it may encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low it goes back to its docking station and automatically empties its dirt into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning the area where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes around three hours to fully recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top rated Robot vacuum model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.

In our tests, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and vacuum the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a world of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
