The Xplore has dual canopies which rotate from front-to-back, providing adequate sun protection for the entire family. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This may not be ideal for long drives or napping.

The frame on the Xplore feels solid and sturdy however it doesn't have as much flex as some of the other wagons we tried. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the competition and does not secure when folded. It is easy to move, though, and it can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents who are seeking a second stroller that's priced reasonably. It scored a dazzling score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and size folded that means it's lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to put into a car trunk or closet. It also has the option of reclining in multiple positions and an adult cup holder. Other key features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

In our test of the push and turn, it did better than most of the other strollers of a similar price we test, but it's not the most maneuverable on uneven ground or through doorways that are narrow. The seat reclines with one hand and the large shopping basket makes it simple for parents to get their child in and out. Despite this being quite a small pushchair, it was able to handle the everyday bumps with ease and went through doorways without any fuss.

The front wheels can be locked in an forward position or allow them to rotate which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel while walking along a stony path. It handled the situation well, even though it felt slightly rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is most well-known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain strollers that jog. But they also manufacture a vast selection of pushchairs with four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It is simple to use and folds down small enough to fit into a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It's heavier than other strollers we've tested, but because it has rubber composite wheels, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It is easy to maneuver over different terrains, and even with two children with shopping bags and other items.

The seat and carrycot both have hoods with pull-down UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are showerproof and sturdy unlike other prams' hoods which get whipped back into toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it does have a big basket that's deep enough for an infant's changing bag and plenty of food items. It can also be connected with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters sold separately). If you require a stroller that can be used on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was an infant stroller that captivated the hearts of many parents when it first came out. It's a stroller made of aluminum which can be used from infant's first days until. It's got a lot of standout features, including the ability of the seat to be turned between parent and world facing, a large UPF50+ canopy with an eye shade that flips out, and an adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are durable and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension that takes the sting out of rough terrain. Our tester found it to be smooth to push and was able to manoeuvre it through narrow streets with ease.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also be folded and repositioned for easy transport down the stairs, or in the boot of the car. The travel system is offered with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot by using the adaptors included. The brakes are a single person buggy action and are colour coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to use and comes with a fantastic dual suspension. It can be folded by one hand and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also lightweight and robust. The seat can be reclined in many positions and comes with a built-in double breathable mattress that's suitable for babies from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two extra-large fixed or flip-out sun visors. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can awaken napping babies.

The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It can be used with two infant car seat and some carrycots.
